1. Don't trim your hair every month!
Obviously you don't want to avoid the salon chair completely, but hairdressers recommend a 6 weekly haircut to keep your hair in shape. If you are trying to grow your hair I would space your appointments out to 8-10 weeks so that you are not cutting off all of the regrowth. (DO still get your hair cut - if you avoid the chair completely you will end up with wispy, split ends which will be hard to work with on the day.)
2. Deep condition your locks!
Ask your stylist for a mask that you can use once a week at home. We all remember to moisturise our face regularly, but so many of us forget that our hair needs moisture too! One of my absolute favourite masks is from Moroccan Oil, smells divine and your hair feels like silk after.
3. Add Olaplex to your regular colouring service.
Just type "#olaplex" into Instagram and you can see for yourself just how many people are in love with this product! Good to note that to get the most from this patented active ingredient; you will need step 1 and 2 performed in salon during your colour service followed by a good use of No.3 at home. (I alternate my moisture mask with my olaplex No.3 week on week)
4. Stay hydrated. (this ones free!)
Water regulates the circulatory system, which feeds the hair follicles - which stimulates hair growth. It's as simple as that!
5. Drink green tea.
The presence of antioxidants and caffeine stimulate the hair follicle and promote growth. Aim for three cups a day!
6. Eat salmon a few times a week.
It contains a trifecta of healthy hair helpers - Vitamin D and protein are good for strong and shiny hair, and omega 3 fatty acids which keep your scalp healthy!
7. Be gentle with your brush...
...and invest in a Detango! Hands down the best detangler on the market.
8. Go heat-free
Try cutting down the amount of times you use heat on your hair every week. Let your hair dry naturally where possible and if you are going to straighten, use a thermal protector!
